One youth died when forces chased protesting youths in South Kashmir on Friday evening.
Reports and local sources said that during protests, forces chased protestors in Marhama area of Islamabad district.
“Three youths jumped in Jhelum to escape the forces wrath,” locals said, “one of the trio youths drowned as he could not come out of flowing Jhelum.”
Reports said that forces were shelling tear gas canisters and pellets in the area while protestors were running for safety.
The dead body of the youth has been recovered this morning and has been identified as Shahnawaz Khan, s/o Mohammad Iqbal Khan, r/o Daddoo Marhama near Sangam. He was 24 years old.
