All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) chairperson Syed Ali Geelani on Friday said that words like “Insaaniyat, Jamhooriyat and Kashmiriyat” by Rajnath Singh, “do not suit his deeds”.
“Insaaniyat by India is proved by each and every nook and corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. They have mutilated the face of Insaaniyat to such an extent that it has lost its meaning as well,” Geelani told reporters before being arrested on way to Eidgah Srinagar outside his Hyderpora residence today.
“Unabated killings, blinding scores of innocents, maiming people from 8 to 80 years, injuring and crippling thousands, ransacking houses and beating inmates, dragging young people from their bedrooms and beating them to death, arresting hundreds of youth across the valley are a few footprints of their so called Insaaniyat here in Jammu and Kashmir,” the ailing Geelani said.
“Stalwarts and architects of their Insaaniyat have left no stone unturned to push us to the wall by all the means and might of their power and aggression. They have been so ruthless and barbaric that human history hardly finds even the trace of such events,” he said.
Geelani further said in the statement, “in North Kashmir especially Sopore and adjoining areas like Hathlangoo, Botingoo and Warpora, a police officer DSP Dilraj Singh has been so notorious and mischievous in harassing the people that he even dared to desecrate the Holy Qur’an.”
Referring to “Jamhooriyat”, Geelani said, “Kashmiris as a nation are the best example of ‘Indian democracy’ and we have seen and bore the brunt of its Jamhooriyat for the last 7 decades.” “Indian Home Ministers recent twin visits are hopeless and humiliating for him as he got no takers here in Kashmir except a few people paid and groomed by its own agencies.”
Geelani said, “on his visits, he (Rajnath Singh) only fattened the bulk of its army as he knows that this is the only tool with which we are holding the land of Kashmir.”
The octogenarian Hurriyat Conference chairperson said, “what can you expect from the people who have laws for cow protection but not humans, especially minorities mostly Muslims.”
Geelani appealed youths to be vigilant and disciplined as this “movement is going to be precious with each passing day”.
“Our traders small or big are baring the main brunt and are at loss of thousands of Crores (of Rupees) daily. They offer these huge financial sacrifices consciously and willingly to see an end to the age old miseries and suffering of their brethren,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (g) has strongly condemned the arrest of Shehzad Ahmad, brother of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Islamabad district president, Mir Hafizullah.
“Police are in no mood to mend their ways and continue to arrest and torture father in place son and brother in place of brother, breaking and humiliating their own rules and regulations. We repeatedly request them and today also appeal their conscious not to isolate themselves from the people and invite wrath and destruction for them,” the Hurriyat Conference said.
