Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar, Friday sanctioned special rewards of Rs 5 lakh in favour of 130 wards of serving personnel, who have secured above 80 percent marks in annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2015-16.

The special rewards have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund, a statement issued by PRO DG office said this afternoon.

Announcing the special rewards, Rajendra has stressed upon the wards to get modern education and perform excellent in different examinations.

He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization is providing assistance to the wards to boost their morale so that they could continue their studies and excel in future examinations.

Giving details, the DGP said that the beneficiaries include 130 meritorious wards of serving police personnel, who have secured above 80 percent marks in 10th classes annual examination during the academic year 2015-16.

He said that the students are studying in different schools  across the state and the Jammu and Kashmir Police has been providing scholarships and special rewards to the wards of serving police personnel to encourage them and refine their talent in future studies.

He said such rewards are given to the students every year from class 8th up to PG level and professional courses. Free coaching is also provided to such wards enabling them to compete at different levels to reshape their academic career.

The DGP said that in the modern age responsibilities of parents have doubled and they have to pay proper attention towards their wards from the very initial stage.

He said that the parents have to make their wards able to face the challenges in the modern times and make their future bright. He said that quality education has assumed more importance in the present days and every child has to perform better and shape his future.

Rajendra said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police Parivar would always giving priority towards the quality education of police wards, whose parents are remaining busy in performing their professional duties in various parts of the State. He said that it is prime duty of Police Organization to take care of their wards.

The department has realized its responsibility and has been assisting these wards under various welfare schemes to lead a prosperous life.
