In order to launch a major creak down on eve teasers, Kishtwar police party led by Dy SP Headquarter Kishtwar Touseef Rishu under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Kumar Wazir in civic dresses on Friday detained at least half dozen eve teasers outside Kendriya Vidyala School Kishtwar and later handed over them to their family members with necessary instructions and warning to them.
As per the details available with Kashmir Life, police received a numbering of complaints about eve teasing outside various schools in Kishtwar town.
It deputed large number of police personnel in civil dresses and caught hold of at least six eve teasers who were teasing the girls coming out of the Kendriya Vidyala School Kishtwar located in NHPC Colony Semna.
After detaining the eve teasers, police summoned their parents and family members and handed over their custody to them after following due procedure.
The two among the detained eve teasers are said to be minors. Though Kishtwar police did not register any case against them, but they were asked to report police station after one week for permanent counselling.
On this occasion Dy SP HQ Kishtwar also informed their parents and the family members about the hazards of growing drug menace in the society and requested them and other parents to keep an eye on the activities of their children so that they could not fall prey to growing drug culture in the society.
He also told them that Kishtwar police are ready to provide all possible help including counselling and facilitator for providing treatment to those persons who had fallen prey to drugs and urged them to report such matters to police in the interest of the individual and the society as whole.
Keeping in view of the tender age of the detainees, police did not disclose the names of those eve teasers; however, senior police officials told that the drive against eve teasing will continue.
