District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam has asked the District Agriculture Officer, the District Horticulture Officer and District Animal & Sheep Husbandry Officer to reach out to the agriculturists and horticulturists in the district who may need any on-farm technical assistance for their crops and orchards.

These instructions were passed at an officers meeting convened under the chairmanship of the DDC in Pulwama this morning, an official spokesperson said this evening.

The DDC said given the prevailing law and order situation, the agriculturists and horticulturists may not be able to reach the district offices for guidance regarding climate and weather, soil, diseases on crops and plants, livestock and aquaculture.

He said the concerned district officers should reach out to the farmers to provide them on-farm assistance.

The DDC said adequate arrangements should be also made for the transportation of fruit to the Mandis especially the peach which is ready round this time.
