Intense protests were held in North Kashmir’s Palhallan town when forces entered the village during Thursday-Friday night.

Local reports reaching here said that forces entered the Palhallan town last late night around 11:45 PM and were searching for a youth.

“It created horror in the area when scores of gypsies entered the area,” a local said, “and announcements were made on loudspeakers asking people to come on roads.”

Kashmir is witnessing renewed civil uprising since July 09, a day after popular militant commander Burhan Wani was killed.

“SOG men in civil dress raided a house looking for one particular youth but people resisted and they were chased away up to 1 KM,” a local said.

He added that hundreds of people came on streets and held pro-freedom rallies marching across Palhallan. “It was only around 1:30 AM that people returned to their beds,” he said.

Similar reports reached from Noor Bagh and Chattabal areas in Srinagar where police raided several houses and searched for youths. However, people came out on roads and raised pro-freedom slogans chasing away the forces.
