Intense clashes are going on South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.

Local Correspondent reports said that clashes erupted Hospital road immediately after congregational Friday prayers.

“Scores of tear gas canisters have been lobbed to disperse the protestors,” the reports said, “people are raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans and clashes are going on.”

The reports further said that curfew was imposed since early today in the entire district.

Meanwhile, witnesses said that people are marching towards main Shopian town on bikes and in cars from Trenz, Tarkwangun, Chitragam, Mohanpora, Pehlipora area. Shirmal is the main point where they are assembling.

People have prepared Tehri (turmeric rice) and have prepared special drinking water for the people who have come from other areas.

Meanwhile, police sources said that a grenade was found outside Shopian court complex today. The grenade did’nt burst, however.
