Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g), Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday while thanking the freedom loving countries for raising their voice against the “worst human violations” and denying the basic right, Right of Self Determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir has said that situation in Jammu and Kashmir will deteriorate further as the “Indian intransigence on the dispute scales up in rhetoric and reality” for we believe that peaceful and just resolution of the dispute is the only sustainable option this whole region can endure.
“Therefore we once again call for an end to the violence in all its forms that Indian state is perpetrating here, since its occupation in 1947 weather physical, structural, political and cultural,” Geelani said in a statement issued this evening.
He said, “as the Indian parliament defends its armed forces, communicates and consolidates its untenable position on the disputed nature of the Jammu and Kashmir, we apprehend a far more lethal repression coming for our people in guise of engagement that lacks any moral and political substance.”
“We as the representatives of aspiration of freedom of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, once again appeal to the conscience of global community, international forums besides sovereign Muslim nations to exercise their humanitarian duty as members of community of nations and impress upon the Indian state led by inebriated Hindutva vanguard to respect the basic and legitimate basic rights of more than 12 million people of Jammu and Kashmir which stand endorsed by the entire international community but remain in suspended animation at the UN for more than 6 decades now,” the octogenarian leader said.
He urged entire Pakistani nation and state to lobby with their allies especially China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and friends like Iran, Britain and prevail upon them to “influence the conduct” of Indian state in Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement said that Geelani asked Pakistan to call upon the Islamic countries to convene a special summit of OIC exclusively for Kashmir and unanimously impress upon India to concede to the demand of Right of Self Determination of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Hailing the bold and courageous stand of China regarding Kashmir, Geelani said that China is emerging as the main engine for economic transformation in the region around Kashmir.
It needs to be reminded of the importance of “influencing Indian intransigence on Kashmir to make us willing partners in collective economic corridor, they are aspiring for”.
“That will not only speed up and enhance the positive development but will end the uncertainties, otherwise associated with such huge investments,” he said.
He further appealed all the stakeholders to understand that dreams of any and every sustain transformation sweeping in and around Jammu and Kashmir must account for its political stability which only a just and peaceful solution can ensure.
