Minister of State for Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Housing and Urban Development, Ms Asiea Naqash Thursday chaired a meeting of officers of line departments to review the implementation of ‘Hunnar’ Scheme launched during 2015-16 for the identified poor girls of the State.

The Minister said the scheme was launched with an objective to impart training to the beneficiaries in various fields enabling them to establish their own income generating ventures for livelihood, an official spokesperson said this evening.

She said a number of poor and needy girls were imparted training in various fields by line departments during the years 2015-16 and they were projected as entrepreneur.

The Minister also impressed upon the concerned to implement the scheme in a big way so that the benefits of the scheme percolate to the needy at the grassroots level.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Director, Social welfare Kashmir, Director, Handicrafts and Managing Director, J&K women Development Corporation.
