Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi Thursday reviewed the progress of dredging in river Jhelum.
He inspected various dredging sites, including Ram Munshi Bagh, Sonawar and Old Bridge Rajbagh and personally obtained the status of the pace of work from the concerned.
The Minister directed the concerned to fast pace the work and ensure quality strictly as per the specifications, an official spokesperson said this evening.
He directed the Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control to personally monitor the progress of work so that the project is completed within a stipulated timeframe.
The engineers briefed the Minister about the progress of the project and quantum of men and material put in place to undertake the activities on fast-track basis.
They informed that the work is going in double shift and will be accomplished in the time frame.
