At least seven persons were injured in clashes with forces on Old Srinagar.

Clashes had erupted in Old Srinagar in Safakadal and Khanyar areas when authorities lifted curfew.

“We have received seven injured persons from Khanyar and Nowhatta areas,” MS SMHS told Kashmir Life over phone, “they are in theatre and being examined.

The MS, however, didn’t reveal the nature of injuries to the seven persons.

People from several Old Srinagar areas held protests on Tuesday after curfew was lifted across summer capital.

The people were protesting against the 52 civilian killings in last 17 days across Kashmir during mass uprising. South Kashmir districts continue to be under curfew and people have been restricted to their homes.

The united resistance leadership has given deal in shutdown today after 2 PM. There has been thin movement of private vehicles in Lal Chowk and civilians.

Reports from Nawab Bazaar, Chatabal crossing, lanes and by-lanes in Old Srinagar said that the roads have been blocked by protestors.
