Stating that they had come to meet and listen to people of Kashmir, former Union external affairs minister, Yashwant Sinha who was heading a five-member group to Valley on Thursday said that they will be “delighted when normalcy returns” to Kashmir.

Talking to reporters, Sinha said that they met with various stakeholders during these days. “Our aim of visiting Valley was to listen everyone here. It was good on separatists’ part that they decided to meet us. We had extensive discussions with various stakeholders here,” he said.

Sinha said, “we will be delighted when normalcy returns to Valley.”

Pertinently, the team comprising of five members led by Yashwant Sinha met with several resistance leaders including Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

The team which left for Delhi this afternoon also met with trader union leaders, Civil Society group and Bar Association.

The delegation had earlier said that the talks with separatist leaders were held in cordial atmosphere and they asserted that it was their personal effort and in no way represented government of India.

Others who are part of the group include Wajahat Habibullah, Bharat Bhushan, Kapil Kak, and Sushoba Barve.
