SRINAGAR

Unknown persons hurled a petrol bomb on vendors in North Kashmir’s Sopore town.

Reports said that two masked persons who were riding a motor bike stopped near sub-district hospital Sopore where scores of vendors had set their carts.

“The bomb dropped on a cart thus setting ablaze clothes meant for customers,” reports said.

The bikers escaped from the pot and vendors have fled the area for safety.

Forces have been rushed to the area and police are investigating the matter.

In Srinagar’s Saida Kadal area, an “attempt” was made to set ablaze an auto-rickshaw.

A cop from Police Station Rainawari said that an auto-rickshaw was partly damaged in the fire around 2 Am during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, a cop from Parimpora Police Station told Kashmir Life, a junked Lando of a truck was set ablaze mysteriously in the area.

“Front portion of a truck – called as Lando – was set ablaze at a junk Go-down in the area,” the cop said, “it seems to be a case of infighting between junk dealers.”
