Employees Joint Action Committee’s (EJAC) district president of Kupwara, Mir Fayaz on Wednesday expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition of EJAC president, Abdul Qayoom Wani and demanded his immediate release.

Fayaz told KNS that the employees were not allowed to meet Wani in the jail, which is “unfortunate”. “Even the authorities didn’t allow medicines for the ailing president,” he said.

He said that refusal of treatment to the EJAC president is an open human rights violation.

“Wani’s health is deteriorating and the authorities should release him at earliest so that he could get the medical treatment,” Fayaz said.
