According to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir working hours in all the Government offices and institutions of Kashmir valley, except in case of Educational Institutes, shall be from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm with effect from November 01, 2016. These timings shall remain operative up to March 31, 2017.

Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Wednesday convened a meeting to discuss arrangements to be put in place regarding Amarnath Yatra-2017, an official spokesperson said this evening.

Principal Secretary to Governor, P K Tripathi, who is also Chief Executive Officer Amarnath Shrine Board, Deputy Commissioners of Islamabad and Ganderbal, SSP Islamabad and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed threadbare the rationalisation of shops and tent to be pitched in each Yatra camp and at other places en route the holy cave.

It was said that the procedure and the timelines to be followed for grant of tents and shop permissions shall be completed before the commencement of Yatra 2017.

The Divisional Commissioner was apprised through a power point presentation about the plan of tents and shops in various areas.

He was further informed that the monitoring procedure needs to be followed for ensuring that tents and shops are pitched strictly according to the layout plan of the camp.

On the occasion, the Div Com directed the BRO to complete all road surfacing works pending, if any, before the commencement of the Yatra.

He further directed the Deputy Commissioners of Islamabad and Ganderbal to suitably fix the rates of Pony-walas for the Yatra.

Concerned officers of the twin districts were also directed to prepare the plan outlay for better traffic management for the convenience of the devotees.
