A scheduled pro-freedom rally was foiled by forces in Lar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday.

Reports said that forces had sealed all the entry points leading towards the village and the men in uniform didn’t let people to hold the rally.

It was part of the resistance calendar issued by joint Hurriyat Conference to hold a pro-freedom rally in Lar.

Meanwhile, in Arin village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora a pro-freedom was successfully held despite restriction by the forces.

The forces were deployed to stop people from moving towards Arin, but people managed to reach the rally venue and rally was held, said a local.

However, clashes were reported from Malangam, reports said.

Three people were detained by police there, a local said.

In Nasrullapora and the adjoining areas, in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the situation continues to remain tense on fourth consecutive day after a 21-year-old youth was killed due to heart attack after clashes on the evening of Oct 21.

Due to the heavy deployment of forces, the area witnessed clashes after the stone pelting incidents, a local informed Kashmir Life.
