J&K Police on Monday said that the cops had specific input that a group of youth were being motivated by HM Commander Zakir Rashid Bhat @ Mosa to snatch weapons from minority pickets or police and to join the “banned” militant ranks.

“Upon this input,” police spokesperson said this evening, “police arrested one Shakir Ahmad Khan and who during questioning disclosed this plan to snatch weapons.”

“Accordingly,” the spokesperson added, “03 persons namely Mohammad Asif Khan, Adil Ahmad Najar and Saqib Nazir Bhat were taken into custody and during questioning, (they) confessed that they hatched a conspiracy to snatch weapons from minority pickets or police so that after wards they could join militant ranks.”

The police spokesperson said that a case FIR No 190/2016 under “unlawful activities” act has been registered and investigation is set into motion. “This operation was conducted by Police along-with 42 RR.”
