Two congress lawmakers from South Kashmir condemned sacking of twelve state government employees over their alleged role in anti-India protests since July 09, 2016.

MLA Devsar Mohammad Amin Bhat in a statement while condemning the onslaught against the state employees compared the prevailing situation as “revival of Jagmohan rule in Kashmir”.

Terming the move as “government’s frustration,” he said, “Kashmir has witnessed violent situations earlier also, but no popular Government has taking such a step against the State employees.”

Government has sacked at least a dozen employees from different departments who were accused by the J&K police’s intelligence wing – the Criminal Investigation Department – of spearheading or participating in protests during the on-going pro-freedom uprising in Kashmir.

“These sort of wrong policies are going to alienate people further that will cease the peace process,” the statement added, “and already the arrests and the PSA spree by the government has added fuel to the fire.”

Meanwhile MLA Shangus, Gulzar Ahmad Wani asked government to immediately “revoke the suspension of the employee”.

Condemning the government action he said, “the ruling dispensation should instead look inside their own rank and cadre and first fire anti-nationals within their own party, people who are hell bent on ruining peace and harmony of the nation and immediately reinstate those who have been suspended/terminated.”
