Seven structures were damaged in two separate fire incidents in Shopian and Kupwara, police said on Sunday.

A spokesperson of police said that fire broke out in a shopping complex at Teng Mohalla, Shopian, resulting in damage to six shops belonging to Khursheed Ahmad Mir, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Abdul Hamid, Bashir Ahmad, Ashfaq Ahmad, Majeed and Ali Mohammad.

In another incident, fire broke out in a residential house of Zubair Ahmad Mir resident of Patushie, Sogam, Kupwara, due to which said house got partially damaged.

However, the police said that no loss of life or injury was reported in these incidents.

Fire was brought under control by fire tenders in both the incidents.

Nine Persons were Injured In Different Road Accidents in Valley

Police said that an accident took place in Islamabad, between a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03A-4429 and an Auto load carrier bearing registration number JK03C-5854 at KP road Islamabad, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Nasrullah Reshi resident of Hutmurrah, Islamabad.

The injured person was shifted to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a vehicle bearing registration number JK01A-8740 driven by Tariq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Dessu turned turtle near Pindobal Bahwatoo Kokernag, resulting in injuries to five persons.

All the injured were shifted to Kokernag hospital for treatment, police said.

Police said that in Ganderbal, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01F-3705 driven by Abdul Rauf Chachee, resident of Chattergul Kangan skidded off the road near Power House Kangan, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist and pillion mate Mumtaz Ahmad Khatana resident of Chattergul Kangan.

Both the injured were shifted to sub-district Hospital Kangan for treatment, from sub-district Hospital they were referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.

“In Budgam, a Scooter bearing registration number CH03P-6635 skidded off the road at Kawoosa, resulting in injuries to Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Kawoosa. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment,” police said in the statement.

Meanwhile, the police added that on Sunday afternoon a team of police from Khanyar police station was following specific information.

A police party headed by SDPO Khanyar along with SHOs of Police Stations Nowhatta, Khanyar and Rainawari raided a gambling site at Kaka Mohalla Nowhatta.

Nine gamblers were arrested and stake money of rupees 66000 was recovered from the gambling site.

Police have registered a case under FIR number 111/2016 under section 13 Gambling Act and investigation was taken up.
