Police have arrested elder son of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday morning.
Family of Geelani said that Dr Nayeem Geelani was on way to meet his father at Rehmat Abad Hyderpora around 10 AM.
“Police have detained him and lodged him at police station Humhama,” Geelani’s younger son, Naseem Geelani told Kashmir Life over phone.
Naseem himself was barred from meeting his ailing father this morning.
Notably, Geelani was scheduled to “address nation” at 11 AM today. But the residence-cum-office of Geelani has cordoned and no one is being allowed to enter the street leading to Geelani’s house.
