Indian and Pakistani troops manning the Line of Control (LoC) continue to exchange fire in Hira Nagar sector of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Report said that an Indian soldier has been injured allegedly by firing from Pakistani side.

Heavy mortar shelling that started at around 12:30 pm is going on in Tarkundi area in Balakote sector of Mendhar and Sabjiyan sector in Poonch district, reports said.

They said that shells from across the border were landing in villages located near the LoC.

After Indian army claimed to have carried out “surgical strikes” along the Line of Control in Kashmir on September 29, the tension on borders escalated which still prevails.

Pakistan refuted the claim and termed it as a usual “violation of ceasefire along LoC by Indian troops”. Two Pakistani Ranghers died on the border “due to firing by the troops stationed on this side of fence”.
