J&K Ministry of Education would be “only” such ministry in the world to “convert” police barracks and interrogation centers into the examination halls, said All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani.

The Hurriyat Conference was reacting to the “shocking” statement of Ministry of education to conduct the exam of arrested students in jails and police stations.

“Our so-called education minister is too much educated that without using his mental acumen can go to any extent to gratify his individual ego or dictate of their masters,” a statement issued by the Hurriyat Conference on Thursday evening said.

“It would have been better for the ministry to shift the whole education system including schools and students to these police stations and if feasible along with their parents so that they could educate our new generation without the fear of disturbance and safety,” the statement said.

The Hurriyat Conference said that “mortgaged” minds and “sold out” souls can yield “only such illogical affirmation” which even a low thinking soul can hardly help himself making a joke of it.

“9000 youth, mostly students are arrested, 5500 are wanted and 2300 FIRs have already been lodged which has put the whole valley out of gears for the last about four months. Even the people holding the ministerial portfolios, with all their protecting guns and bulletproof vehicles can hardly dare to roam freely on the roads, turned into the killing fields by these armed forces, how can a common man oppressed, suppressed, unarmed, weak and frightened can send their loved ones out on these killer roads in the name of education and examination,” the Hurriyat Conference observed.

“This irrational and foolish vocalization is nothing but a deep rooted incurable morbidity, which can’t see the ground realities, can’t hear the just voices and can’t assess the happenings in surroundings. They only stick to their unjustified rhetoric of ‘normalcy’ as their masters in Delhi parrot Atoot Ang,” the statement added.

“Occupying forces use their every weaponry to subjugate the population and strengthen their cruel jaws of barbarism and local stooges always offer them their services in fulfilling their agenda of aggression and control and whenever people resist and rise against this aggression, Indian forces use their military might, bullets and pallets, ransacking and thrashing and unabated arrests to create an illusionary peace and when these harsh measures fail to deliver, they resort to open letters to emotionally blackmail the leadership and when even this gets a befitting reply from one and all, they use schooling and examination as an instrument to accomplish and achieve, what they could not get by other means,” the Hurriyat Conference said.

Notably, the incumbent education minister Naeem Akhtar had written an open letter to Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani regarding the education of students.

“Conducting exams in police stations is something strange, unjustified and impracticable which shows the height of irresponsibly and callousness on the part of so-called educated henchmen. In case this puppet government is sincere and concerned with the education and future of our kids, they should release them, withdraw the cases against them, stop the police vigil and gaze on them and give them preparatory time so that they can prove their worth in exams—but expecting anything constructive from the leased psyche is next to impossible,” the Hurriyat Conference maintained.

The Hurriyat Conference appealed people to comply with the joint resistance leadership program in letter and spirit and assemble outside the houses of the legislators of the pro-Indian parties and “question them that had they been elected for butchering and blinding our innocents and if they have any trace of humanity and self-respect left in them, they should part ways from the war machinery of India and side with their own people so that they can live in a dignified and respectable way in their own social fabric”.
