Police presented Zahid before Executive Magistrate in a case wherein the said authority had not said anything but “trapped” him in another “flimsy and fabricated” case under section Cr PC 107/151 which falls under the jurisdiction of police station Shaheed Gunj.

“At the occasion police failed to produce any kind of evidence against the arrestee and captured him in another case with a malicious design, which depicts police is violating all human rights in Kashmir under their feet,” a statement issued by Jama’at this evening said, “authorities have fixed 25th October, 2016 for next hearing of Zahid Ali’s case and shifted him to sub-jail Kothibagh.”

The statement said that Jama’at expresses its strong resentment over the arrest spree by police and other forces in Baramulla, Handwara, Pulwama, Srinagar and other localities.

“Forces have created war like situation by picking up of thousands of youth during crackdowns and nocturnal raids. Forces first crackdown the localities wherein they beat inmates ruthlessly and detain incalculable youth and posed them before the media as trouble mongers and violence instigators,” Jama’at observed.

“Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir condemns this attitude of police and other forces agencies and terms it brute violation of human rights,” the statement added, “at this occasion Jama’at appeals all international human rights bodies to take tangible notice of this atrocious behaviour and come forward for the wellbeing of Kashmiri people.”
