The Kashmir Study Forum Sri Lanka along with Pakistani and Sri Lankan community organized a peaceful demonstration in front of United Nation Office at Baudaloka Mawatha in Sri Lanka to highlight the recent upsurge in extrajudicial killing and human rights violation in this part of Kashmir by the Indian forces.

The participants of the assembly expressed their grave concern about the on-going killings of civilians by Indian security forces in the towns and villages of Kashmir, The Asian Tribune reported.

Since 8th July, 2016, forces have killed more than at least 47 innocent Kashmiris, injured over 3500, imposed ban on print and electronic media, all forms of communication, food embargo and a curfew imposed following the assassination of youth militant commander Burhan Wani.

Sweden

Most of the injured have lost eyesight due to pellet guns used by Indian army and police officials.

The peaceful assembly was attended by people from all walks of life.

“The participants urged the Secretary General of the United Nations to encourage, facilitate and support efforts leading to a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolutions to ensure resolution of this longstanding unresolved issue,” the new report said.

The participants also urge the United Nations for immediate end of Indian laws such as Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (TADA), Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978, The Armed Forces (Jammu & Kashmir) Special Power Act 1990, Jammu & Kashmir Disturbed Area Act 1990, Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) 2002 and Article 370.

A memorandum with thousands of signatures urging UN to play its role to resolve the oldest unresolved dispute on UN agenda since 1947 was also handed over to the UN office.

Germany

A signature campaign was also launched to raise awareness, encourage advocacy and to emphasize the centrality of the resolution of Kashmir Issue to the lasting peace and prosperity of South Asia across the Island nation.

Meanwhile, Non-Resident Kashmiris (NRKs) also help protests in Germany and Sweden nations of European Union.

The protestors raised slogans in favour of Kashmir’s independence and asked world bodies to investigate “grave human rights violations” in this part of Kashmir.

In South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, a Rail Roko protest in Tamil Nadu and other cities of Chennai and Coimbatore junctions was held by Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi (MJK) on Friday.

In a statement, a spokesperson said above 2000 peoples were detained and later released.

MJK leader Tamimun Ansari, who is also a local legislator urged the Indian government to take a necessary steps and same war with Kashmiris.

Kashmiri stay outside Kashmir um worried for not getting contact with my family since almost 18days I miss my mom pls do any help so that I can able to talk them I heard that they are imprisoned in their houses without having any facility for live their lives, I appeal all the brothers and UNO to take any step and I know the Indian crucial law and um witness of too their brutality pls help us in getting freedom from India they use drag us, pressurised us and beat us pls help

    • even v are worried about our relatives as v dont have any contact with our relatives and it looks like that govt is not serious about restoring mobile serives any time soon

This message should go viral across the world so that they should get aware what is happening in this State at the hands of Indian administration…killings of innocent people including teen agers has become order of the day… It is the time for humanism to take part by raising voice against Indian barbarism..
