“It is Karbala in Kashmir, O God save us,” thus sang hundreds of youth who held a candle light protest in summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir Saturday evening.

Just after Maghrib prayers were over, youth including children and elderly, assembled outside Masjid-i-Abu Talib at Hassan Abad Rainawari in Old Srinagar and held a protest demonstration against civilian killings in Kashmir since July 09, 2016.

A joint effort by Shias and Sunnis – tow sects of Muslims – the Srinagarities tried to highlight the “highhandedness” in Kashmir and sought justice to the victim families.
