Strongly condemning the continuous killing spree in the valley wherein two more innocents have lost their lives on Friday, APHC-m chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the continuous curfew and restrictions for the 14th consecutive day across Kashmir has created an emergency regarding essential commodities, baby food  and medicines in the entire Valley.

Mirwaiz who is under continuous house arrest for the past two weeks was by stopped from offering congregational Friday prayers, at Jamia Masjid Srinagar and no prayers were allowed at the mosque due to the massive curbs for the second consecutive Friday, a statement issued by Hurriyat Conference (m) said late this evening.

Terming the on-going situation as “extremely serious and wrought with dangerous consequences”, Mirwaiz blamed the ruling regime and its agencies for this situation.

Castigating the government for using brute force for implementing its authority and writ in Kashmir, he said, “they have crossed all limits of barbarism by killing more than 47 civilians and injuring thousands of people, some of who had been maimed and handicapped forever, and over 150 blinded, while entire Kashmir had been converted into one large jail and human civil and religious rights of people completely trampled upon which should be a cause of concern for the entire civilized world.”

Appealing the United Nations (UN), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the European Union besides the emancipated people and nations of the entire world, the APHC-m Chairperson said they should play their role in pressurizing Government of India in ending its naked aggression, barbarism and state terrorism and help Kashmiris get their basic rights including their Right to Self Determination.

Appreciating people for showing resistance against their oppression and suppression, he called upon the freedom-loving people to follow the programs given by the unified resistance leadership in letter and spirit for carrying forward the resistance struggle to its logical conclusion.

Mirwaiz said, “the freedom loving people of Kashmir had resolved not to give up or surrender while the resistance leadership were duty bound and had resolved not to rest till the Kashmir issue reaches its logical conclusion.”

Meanwhile, as per the programme given by the unified resistance leadership, despite curfew, restrictions and curbs imposed by the government, wherever Friday congregational prayers were held, Imams, Khateebs and Imams raised voice against the on-going civilian killings and raised pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans.
