Suspected militants Friday shot at and critically injured a cop outside DC office in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.
Police sources told CNS that PSO Fayaz Ahmed Bhat (638A), a resident of Katrosu Kulgam was guarding the front gate of the District Development Commissioner’s Office in Islamabad when two unidentified persons appeared there and one of them fired upon the cop at a point blank-range. The single bullet according to police hit the skull of the cop who fell down in a pool of blood.
“The injured cop was shifted to SKIMS where he is being treated upon by a team of doctors,” DIG South Kashmir Vijay Kumar said adding that the assailants fled from the spot soon after the incident.
