Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth president, Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Thursday said that Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is working tirelessly on a “comprehensive plan” for youth empowerment and their engagement at all levels.

Para was addressing party workers in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. He toured a dozen villages in the district, a PDP youth wing statement said this evening.

While interacting with party workers and youth from the area he said, “the role of youth in bringing peace to the embattled valley couldn’t be ignored.”

“There is anger and disillusionment among the youth in valley facilitated by years of mis-governance and political inefficiency, but the present government is committed to involve the youth of Jammu and Kashmir in development and ever lasting peace,” he said.

“The endeavour of the state government was to create and sustain the atmosphere of hope and confidence among the young men who have been battered by previous regimes,” he observed.

“Youth can’t be ignored. We have such a huge youth bulge in the state, and they need to be given space to grow. The government is working hard to take care of your employability, growth, career and other needs of your progress,” Para added.

“The chief minister understands your problems well. We all have to play a role to strengthen her hands for a brighter tomorrow,” he said.
