Violent scenes resurfaced in JK Assembly on Wednesday over the ongoing flood relief operations in the Valley.

The Opposition led by National Conference, Congress and an independent lawmaker Rashid accused the government of providing “little” relief to flood-hit .

As the lawmakers continued protest and pitched slogans in House, the speaker Kavinder Gupta adjourned the House for 10 minutes. The protesting MLAs were marshalled out of the House.

Earlier, continuous rainfall upsurge Jhelum that crossed the danger mark late on Sunday. This forced state government to issue a flood alert on Monday.

Though the rain stopped yesterday, fresh downpour Wednesday morning again triggered panic. But as per the latest figures released by Irrigation and Flood Control Department Kashmir, Jhelum has maintained a steady course.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy drizzle in valley today.
