Chief Secretary B R Sharma on Monday reviewed the Annual Darbar Move arrangements from Srinagar to Jammu for the winter season, 2016-17, here in a meeting with officers.

Financial Commissioner, Planning and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, BB Vyas and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting, an official spokesperson said this evening.

The offices observing 5 day week shall close on October 27 and offices observing 6 day week shall close at Srinagar on October 29. All the offices shall open in Jammu on November 7, 2016.

It was informed in the meeting that adequate number of trucks and buses has been kept ready for ferrying official records and employees on October 28th, 29th and 30th and November 5th and 6th. Only one way traffic from Srinagar towards Jammu will be allowed to ply during these five days.

Chief Secretary instructed putting in place all necessary measures including security escort to ensure smooth movement of darbar move vehicles upto their respective destinations. He instructed that extra buses and trucks be kept available during the move days besides adequate number of cranes, mobile workshops, recovery vans, medical mobile teams, ambulances be deployed en-route along with necessary equipment and staff to meet any exigency.

Chief Secretary also instructed BEACON and NHAI authorities to ensure good condition of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, especially at vulnerable spots during the move days.

Chief Secretary asked Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to issue temporary ration cards and gas connections to move employees for their Jammu stay and to ensure timely supply of rations besides, directing the concerned departments to ensure complete sanitation, availability of electricity and potable drinking water in all residential colonies of the move employees.

Chief Secretary also asked concerned officers of the Estates department and Jammu Municipal Corporation to inspect employee residential colonies and ensure that necessary facilities were in place including cleaning up water storage tanks and launching an intensive sanitation drives in all colonies.

Estates department was also asked to establish a control room/grievance cell with a toll free number to attend to and address various day to day issues in residential quarters.

Chief Secretary also directed the IT department to ensure that LAN/Internet connections in Jammu Secretariat are fully functional by the time move offices reopen there. He also directed for adequate deployment of security in all residential colonies both in Srinagar and Jammu.

Div Com Jammu Reviews Arrangements Ahead of Darbar Move

Divisional Commissioner, Dr Pawan Kotwal today took on spot review of arrangements for Darbar move and directed concerned functionaries to start renovation and restoration of services at move offices and residential quarters.

The Divisional Commissioner along with team of senior functionaries of police district administration PDD, PWD, PHE and Estates department inspected residential quarters at Company Bagh, B C Road, Tangewali Gali, Ahata Amar Singh and Sarwal, the spokesperson added.

He took stock of power, water, sanitation and other services and directed the concerned departments to start repair and face lifting work immediately.

He directed them to start whitewash, fumigation of all the buildings and removal of garbage dumps in the surrounding areas. He also directed for macadamization of roads and lanes within the premises.

Dr Kotwal also issued directions for upkeep of uninterrupted power lines, water lines and clearance of roads of unwanted roadblocks for smooth vehicular traffic during and after darbar move.

During his visit to Civil Secretariat, the Divisional Commissioner took stock of construction and face-lifting of work. He directed immediate installation of LED bulbs.

The Divisional Commissioner inquired about water supply, electricity and security arrangements.

It was informed that 70% work has been completed and rest of the work is in full swing.
