General Secretary of Gujjar Bakarwal Association Yaseen Poswal joined People Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday at party’s head office in Srinagar. He was welcomed into the party folds by PDP’s General Secretary Nizamuddin Bhat.
Speaking about his entry in the PDP, Poswal said, “The unfortunate policy of the National Conference created a gulf of hatred between Paharis and Gujjars for their political ends.”
“I hope that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will address the issues faced by Gujjar community with immediate effect after elections as she has assured,” he said.
Chowdary Ghulam Hassan, who contested the last election as an independent candidate from Noorabad constituency, and Chowdary Mohd Abdullah, who is the former district officer Industrial Department also joined PDP on the occasion.
