Government Friday transferred DIG South Kashmir and SSP Islamabad amid on-going uprising in the valley.
DIG South Kashmir Nitish Kumar has been replaced by DIG Central Kashmir G H Bhat, and SSP Islamabad Abdul Jabbar has been replaced by SSP Traffic Rural Zubair Ahmad.
Top official sources told KNS that these police chiefs will take charge with immediate effect.
Sources said Nitish Kumar will go for official training and Viplo Kumar has been given additional charge of Central Kashmir range.
Sources said that these changes have been ordered in view of the on-going unrest that erupted in Islamabad District after killing of Hizb Commander Burhan Wani in Kokernag on July 08.
Sources said that SSP Islamabad has been shifted for mishandling the situation in Islamabad District.
