Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu announced release of Dearness Allowance of 6 per cent from January 2016.
In his budget speech, Drabu said that this is in continuation with the measures taken for welfare of the employees like the already released DA from July 2015 and increase in old age pension.
However, on seventh pay commission, Dr Drabu said that all earlier recommendations on the wages of the employees were generally considered detrimental to the fiscal health states. He said that he wants employees as well to see the issue as concerned citizens. At the same time, however, he said that he would leave the issue for the debate before the house.
