Army has agreed to return part of the administrative complex in Banihal to the civil administration; government informed the state legislative assembly on Tuesday.

Government said that the army was in occupation of the administrative complex that is located on 15 kanals of land in Banihal. For security reasons, the government said the army has “expressed reservations in sharing with public the approach road to the complex” for security reasons.

Now the district authorities are exploring the ways to provide alternate passage to public to the complex, the government said.

After negotiations, government said, the army has agreed to vacate 5 kanals and 8 marlas including the revenue complex.
