Srinagar: The two day Youth Festival Jashn-e-Baramulla being organised for the Awam and Youth in particular by the Army on April 25 & 26 kicked off at Degree College Ground, Baramulla.

The event had “enthusiastic response and mass participation” where celebrities Dia Mirza for ‘Women Empowerment’ and Mohd Azharuddin for ‘Youth Empowerment’ added  to the fanfare of the event, said army spokesman.

The spokesman said that the multifaceted event hosting a range of programmes included a Job Fair by 13 prominent companies wherein ‘Walk-in – Interviews’ and immediate Job placements offered to the youth was fundamental in meeting aspirations of the talented youth of the region.

“Sufi Musical Concert by Shafi Sopori, Zunaid Mir Group and Wasim Group, reflecting upon rich culture, traditions and values of Kashmiriyat added to the glitter of the day,” spokesman said.

Speaking on the occasion, Major Gen RP Kalita, GOC, Dagger Division emphasized upon the rich culture and history of Kashmir and lauded the hardwork, resilience and peaceful nature of Kashmiris even in face of adversities.  He also took the opportunity to exhort the youth to channelize their energy towards nation building and betterment of society.

Nasir Ahmad Naqash, DDC, Imtiyaz Hussain, SSP also attended the event along with various prominent personalities of Baramulla Town.
