Minister for Youth Services and Sports Molvi Imran Reza Ansari Tuesday visited MA Sports Stadium Jammu to take stock of sports activities.

The Minister interacted with the Thang Ta players who are currently being trained at the coaching camps for the upcoming 23rd National Thang Ta Championship in which 25 states will be participating. The championship will be held at Telangana Hyderabad from 26-30 January.

Mohd Iqbal, coach of the Thang Ta players appreciated the efforts of the sports council and thanked the minister for interacting with the players.

“Such interactions encourage the sports persons and we are sure that we will bring accolades for our state in the upcoming National Championship.” Said Iqbal, Thang Ta Coach.

Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Secretary J&K Thang Ta Association said that the players are doing well in the game and he hopes that they will bring accolades for the state Jammu and Kashmir.

While talking to the reporters outside, the players said, “We will give our best to bring gold for the state and we are thankful to the sports council and our coach for providing us the facilities that is need of the hour.”

Meanwhile Ansari assured all possible help and said that the infrastructure of other departments that are presently with his portfolio can be used to boost the sports activities across the state.

The sports activities in the state Jammu and Kashmir are gaining momentum with Sports council promoting winter sports and extending helping hand to various associations associated with it.

Along with other officials, Secretary Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Para appreciated the players and support from the Minister, who also is Vice-President of the Sports Council.
