With clamour of Governor’s rule in  Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday in New Delhi to discuss current crisis.

Mehbooba is in New Delhi for a meeting of the Chief Ministers of the states where the BJP is in power or in a coalition. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister,  Modi.  After the meeting, Mehbooba is going to have a one-on-one with Prime Minister, reports said.

Sources say that the meeting will focus on the prevailing situation in valley and the shuddering relations between allies BJP and PDP.

The situation in Kashmir turned tense after student protests erupted across valley following forces raid In Pulwama College on April 15. Students of universities, colleges and schools came out on roads and begun protesting against the forces “highhandedness.”  From last five days colleges in Kashmir are closed. After the student protests internet is banned in Kashmir.

Earlier on April 9, the poll day from the Srinagar parliamentary seat unprecedented boycott was witnessed with massive protests and violence. At least eight people were killed in the clashes and hundreds were injured. Later another injured succumbed to the injuries.

With these developments, analysts and political leader have raised serious concerns over the ‘worsening’ situation. For former Home Minister P Chidambaram the situation appears “worst” in recent political history and said there is growing clamour for Governor’s rule in the state.

Tensions also simmered up between the alliance partners, BJP and PDP after a BJP minister made controversial comments on handing of protests in Kashmir. Since then members from both sides have begun mediating the alliance crises. However, no breakthrough seems to be in sight, if insiders are to be believed.
