After being shifted to Budgam police station, a local court in Budgam has sent senior separatist leader Masarat Alam to seven days police custody late Friday evening.

Alam was produced before the magistrate who sent him to police custody till April 23.

Pertinently, Alam was arrested from his home in old city’s Habbakadal on Friday morning for ‘waving the Pakistani flags and raising anti-India slogans’ during Hyderpora rally on Wednesday organized to receive Hurriyat G Chairman Syed Ali Geelani from his return from New Delhi.
