The Chief Electoral Officer on Saturday said 99 polling stations have been relocated for flood victims.

Addressing a news conference here, Umang Narula, while announcing election dates for Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, said: “So far we have changed only 99 polling stations,” he said.

According to GNS, the CEO said the District Election Officers have told him that majority if flood hit voters are in their polling areas and wherever they are, they are not far away from polling stations.

On being asked about the transfers of Returning officers against ECI violations, he said according Election Commission instructions to they should not have been transferred without consultation especially not in their home districts. “We are looking into the matter and we are taking appropriate action,” he said.
