In Jammu and Kashmir under Public Service Commission (PSC) and Service Selection Board (SSB), there are 12,806 vacancies in the different departments.
These vacancies are of 2470 gazetted and 10336 non-gazetted.
The details were revealed by government in written reply in Legislative Assembly.
In the Higher education department there is highest number of vacancies of gazetted posts, 1162. In the non-gazetted list, School education has highest number of vacancies, numbered as 4837 posts.
The government has stated that steps are being taken to expedite process of recruitments.
“The Jammu and Kashmir Special Recruitment Rules, 2015 have been notified vide SRO 202,” the documents state, “which provide for filling up the vacant posts in various departments in a time-bound manner.”
