Seventy-seven militants have been killed by forces during the current year so far while last year the number of total militants who lost their lives during multiple gun-fights with troopers was 106. Besides the death of 77 militants, 45 forces personnel were attacked and killed by the militants during the current year so far. These include 26 Army personnel, 12 Policemen, 5 BSF personnel and 2 CRPF troopers. Last year in 2014, 62 Government Forces personnel were killed in different militant attacks.
During the current year, according to CNS, unknown gunmen have murdered 35 civilians so far while last year the number of civilian deaths was 52. The maximum number of killings this year occurred in the month of August. 32 persons including 14 militants, 4 Army men, 2 BSF men, one policeman and 11 civilians lost their lives in the month of August while in September alone besides the killing of 2 civilians and 3 Army personnel, 18 militants lost their lives.
