The District Administration, Shopian has rescued 125 passengers boarded in 25 vehicles at Pir-ki-Gali who had been stranded due to heavy snowfall on May 14, 2013. The passengers were on way from Poonch to Shopian via Mughal road but they couldn’t move from Pir-ki-Gali due to slippery road.

As per a statement the district administration after receiving the information rushed to the spot and rescued the stranded passengers. The rescue team started the operation in the evening despite heavy snowfall. They also rescued the live stock of Gujjar and Bakerwals.
