One person died while other five were injured in two different road accidents in Budgam and Kupwara districts, a police spokesperson said.
In Budgam, a Sumo bearing registration number JK11A-9611 turned turtle near Gulbahar Colony, resulting in injuries to two passengers Khalida Begum and Rashida Begum residents of Kalakote Rajouri. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Budgam police has registered a case in this regard.
In Kupwara, a Sumo bearing registration number JK09-7875 driven by Khalid Ahmad Khan resident of Batpora collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK09-7470 at Gonipora Hyhama, resulting in injuries to four persons Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar son of Abdul Ahad and Shabir Ahmad Kumar residents of Gonipora who were riding the Motorcycle, Zamrooda and Khalida Bano residents of Batpora Kupwara who were boarding the Sumo. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment wherefrom Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar and Shabir Ahmad Kumar were referred to SMHS, Srinagar for further treatment where Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar succumbed to his injuries. Kupwara police has registered a case in this regard.
